I came across this word when I was thinking about a single term which would correctly and properly describe myself. For me, an enthusiast is a person who is energised by new experiences and easily drawn to various realms of arts and sciences. I have also discovered that I enjoy travelling so much. It does not only provide me with an opportunity to learn something new, but it also gives me a chance to reflect on myself. I learn a lot about myself through travelling.
From time to time, I have shared and expressed my experience, observations, thoughts and ideas through my blog in Thai. Yet it has not been consistent. Most of the things I wanted to write down have been kept in my mental notes. And I tend to forget about those.
I am a firm believer in communication. Done properly, your thoughts and ideas can go pretty far in influencing people one way or another. They may serve to confirm an idea, support a certain cause tell you where to go for your next meal or simply add to the literature and give dynamics to a language.
So I have decided to pursue this humble personal project of opening a website which will hopefully help me communicate my experience, observations, thoughts and ideas better. Here are some of the things my website is different from my old blog.
- Having realised that there are some ideas that I find them easier expressed in a particular language (depending on the language I first encountered that idea with) and to reach a larger audience, I intend to write in English, Thai and Indonesian. Mind you, I cannot claim to have advanced command of Indonesian but I guess one of the best ways to improve one’s language skill is to keep writing. So please bear with me if my Indonesian is not tetap.
- Writing is, no doubt, an effective way of communication but it is not the only one. Photos and video clips, most of the time, complement writing. We are lucky that there are several apps that allow us to share those with our intended audience. This website will have links to my public social media accounts. In the future, I might explore the possibility of doing podcast or short clip videos on certain topics. But for now, let us leave those for the future.
- Let me explain the two dedicated sections on my website.
– Travelogue is self-explanatory. It features my takes on the journeys I make throughout the years. No two trips are the same. I attach greater importance to my travel companions and the journeys themselves than the destinations.
– What I’m concerned about will feature a new thing that I have not done before. I will write to support a certain cause. I’m pleased to say that I am going to start by writing about waste reduction especially electronic waste. This section will not only be about me listing the reasons why you should reduce waste. I think everyone knows that. But I will keep my eyes open to the news and some of the innovative ways of waste reduction. - I am writing a novel. Once complete (or near-completion), I plan to put some details or excerpts on the website. So please stay tuned for that! (but it will still take quite a while…)
Well, I guess that’s about it. In short, my website will function as a superblog that is a collection of my writings on various topics in English, Thai and Indonesia. I have never run a website before. So please bear with me for some (or many) eccentricities you may find. I will continue to improve on it.
Thank you very much for reaching this far. I will try to do my best to make sure that this humble digital home of mine will serve the purpose of communicating the thoughts from the eyes of an enthusiast.

ผมคิดว่าน่าจะยากหากเราพยายามจะนิยามใครคนหนึ่งด้วยคำเพียงหนึ่งคำ ตัวผมเองก็เช่นกัน แม้จะมีคำคุณศัพท์มากมายที่พอจะตะล่อม ๆ และรวบรัดอุปนิสัยส่วนตัวได้บ้าง แต่ก็ไม่ครอบคลุมทั้งหมด ในบรรดาคำคุณศัพท์ ผมกลับชอบคำนี้ครับ “Enthusiast” หรือคนที่กระตือรือร้นกับเรื่องต่าง ๆ หลายคนที่รู้จักผมน่าจะพอเข้าใจว่าผมหมายถึงอะไร ผมเป็นคนที่ “อิน” ง่าย ตื่นเต้นง่าย โดยเฉพาะเมื่อถูกกระตุ้นด้วยเรื่องราวหรือประสบการณ์ใหม่ ๆ ในทุกศาสตร์ เมื่อผนวกกับความชอบเดินทาง ซึ่งไม่ได้เพียงพาผมไปยังประเทศใหม่ เมืองใหม่ ผู้คนใหม่ แต่การเดินทางยังพาผมไปรู้จักตัวเองมากขึ้นในทุกครั้ง ผมรู้สึกว่า “Enthusiast” นี่แหละ เป็นคำที่เข้ากับนิสัยได้ดี
ผมเชื่อในเรื่องการสื่อสารครับ ผมคิดว่าหากสื่อสารดี ๆ การสื่อสารจะมีพลังที่สร้างสรรค์และเป็นประโยชน์กับโลกใบนี้อยู่บ้าง ผมจึงตัดสินใจเขียน blog เมื่อหลายปีก่อน แต่ก็เขียนบ้าง ลืมบ้าง ห่างหายไปบ้าง ไม่ค่อยจะสม่ำเสมอ ทำให้เรื่องราวที่คิดไว้ว่าจะเขียน หล่นหายไปตามช่วงเวลา และถูกเก็บอยู่ในหลืบความทรงจำจนลืม
ดังนั้น ผมจึงอยากจะลองเปิดเว็บไซต์เป็นโปรเจคต์ส่วนตัวเล็ก ๆ เพื่อพัฒนาการสื่อสารของตัวเอง โดยจะทำหน้าที่เหมือนเป็น superblog ครับ ขออนุญาตใช้เวลาสั้น ๆ เล่าว่าเว็บไซต์นี้จะแตกต่างจากบล็อกเดิมของผมอย่างไร
- เดิมทีผมเขียนบล็อกในภาษาไทยมาตลอด แต่ก็พบว่า ในบางเรื่อง เขียนอีกภาษาน่าจะสื่อสารออกมาได้ดีกว่า ผมจึงอยากจะเริ่มมีบล็อกในภาษาอังกฤษด้วย และผมพอจะมีความสามารถในการใช้ภาษาอินโดนีเซียอยู่บ้าง เพื่อไม่ให้ลืม ก็อยากจะใช้พื้นที่นี้ฝึกฝนทักษะการเขียน โดยเฉพาะในเรื่องที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอินโดนีเซีย
- แม้ว่าการเขียนจะเป็นหนึ่งในช่องทางการสื่อสารที่มีอิทธิพล มีประสิทธิภาพอย่างยิ่ง แต่การเขียนก็ไม่ใช่ช่องทางการสื่อสารเพียงอย่างเดียว ผมพบว่า ภาพ เสียง และวิดีโอมีส่วนทำให้ประสบการณ์การอ่านดีขึ้น ในยุคนี้ สื่อสังคมออนไลน์ทำหน้าที่ในการกระจายภาพ เสียง และคลิปวิดีโอไปอย่างกว้างขวาง ผมจะใช้เว็บไซต์ของผมเป็น platform เพื่อเข้าถึงสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ที่เปิดสาธารณะของผมครับ นอกจากนี้ ในอนาคต ผมยังสนใจเรียนรู้การทำพอดคาสต์ หรือ คลิปวิดีโอสั้น ๆ แต่ในชั้นนี้ เราอย่าเพิ่งไปโฟกัสตรงนั้นดีกว่าครับ 😉 ให้เป็นเรื่องของอนาคตก่อน
- ผมได้เพิ่มส่วนพิเศษสองส่วนในเว็บไซต์ ส่วนแรกคือ Travelogue ซึ่งเป็นไปตามชื่อเลย เป็นงานเขียนที่เกี่ยวกับการเดินทางของผม ผมเชื่อเสมอว่าเรื่องระหว่างทางและผู้ร่วมเดินทางสำคัญกว่าจุดหมาย และผมอยากจะเน้นจุดนี้ในงานเขียนของผมครับ
อีกส่วนหนึ่งคือ What I’m concerned about บอกตามตรงว่าตื่นเต้นกับส่วนนี้มากกว่าส่วนอื่น ๆ เพราะไม่เคยเขียนอะไรทำนองนี้ ผมตั้งใจจะเขียนเรื่องราวที่สนับสนุนเป้าหมายที่น่าจะช่วยให้โลกน่าอยู่ขึ้น โดยผมจะเริ่มที่เรื่องการจัดการขยะ โดยเฉพาะขยะอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องที่ผมค่อนข้าง “อิน” มากครับ ในส่วนนี้ ผมจะหลีกเลี่ยงการลิสต์เหตุผลว่าทำไมเราถึงต้องแยกขยะ ทำไมเราถึงต้องมีวิธีกำจัดขยะอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ แต่ผมอยากจะเอาเรื่องราวที่เกิดขึ้นในโลกมาเล่าสู่กันฟัง โดยเฉพาะวิธีการจัดการกับขยะใหม่ ๆ และสิ่งที่นำมาปรับใช้ได้ในชีวิตประจำวันครับ - ผมเขียนนิยายเรื่องหนึ่งอยู่ และจะขอใช้พื้นที่ในเว็บไซต์ในการแนะนำนิยายของผมนะครับ โปรดติดตาม! (หวังว่าอีกไม่นานเกินรอ)
โดยสรุปแล้ว เว็บไซต์นี้ก็เป็นเหมือน superblog อย่างที่บอกข้างต้นครับ และผมไม่เคยทำเว็บไซต์มาก่อนเลย ก็ต้องขออภัยด้วยหากเว็บไซต์อาจจะดูตลก ๆ ไปบ้าง ผมจะพยายามปรับปรุงอยู่เสมอนะครับ
ขอบคุณมากครับที่อ่านมาถึงตรงนี้ ผมจะพยายามทำให้บ้านในโลกดิจิทัลของผมหลังนี้ทำหน้าที่ของมันอย่างที่ควรจะเป็น นั่นคือการสื่อสารความคิดจากสายตาของชายคนหนึ่งที่มีความกระตือรือร้นเต็มเปี่ยม
